General Eligibility

NWACC makes every effort to meet as much of each student's needs as possible.  However, you should not expect to have 100% of your need met through financial aid funds.  You and your parents (if applicable) are expected to contribute toward your educational expenses.

General Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for financial aid, you must:

  • Have a financial need.  Your level of need is determined by the financial need formula:
Student's Cost of Attendance - Estimated Family Contribution = Financial Need
  • Be enrolled in an eligible program of study
  • Be working toward a degree/certificate
  • Have a valid social security number
  • Have a high school diploma
  • Be a US Citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • If required, registered with Selective Service.  Find out about requirements and how to register at https://www.sss.gov/
  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress
  • Have no defaulted loans or owe a grant repayment
  • Not participate in the sale or possession of drugs while receiving Federal student aid
