Due to changes in credit card processing, the cost to do so has consistently increased over the past several years. For a number of years, NWACC absorbed credit card convenience fees on behalf of its students. Because of the increased use of credit cards for online payments for tuition and fees, the cost to the college to continue this practice has become prohibitive. The credit card processing fee is 2.95% for online payments.
NWACC's payment processor, TouchNet, determines the convenience fee rate based on the current fee structure set by the various credit card companies. The convenience fee will not appear on your student account statement, and it is not refundable, even if the payment to which it relates is canceled, refunded, credited or charged back.
Credit card payments can be made at any internet-accessible device. If you're on campus and want to make a credit card payment, you can access the internet at one of the various computer stations on campus. If you need assistance, the Treasurer’s Office will be able to assist you.
Note: The checks you may receive from a credit card company can not be used electronically with the routing and account number to avoid a convenience fee. The payment will be returned as "Account not found" and your student NWACC account will be charged NSF/ACH penalties. You may use these checks through the mail or in person to make the payment.
To avoid paying the non-refundable convenience fee, you can do an online electronic method of payment from your checking account. By paying online using this e-check method, you will not incur convenience fees on your educational payments. NWACC students are also welcome to pay the charges on their student account with the traditional payment methods of cash, check or money order.
