Title III Grant

Expanding Opportunities for Underserved Learners

In October 2018, NWACC was awarded a five-year Title III grant of approximately $2.2 million from the U.S. Department of Education's Strengthening Institutions Program (SIP) and the Higher Education Act.

The focus of NWACC's Title III grantExpanding Opportunities for Underserved Learners - is to expand academic programming into Washington County, redesign a developmental and English for College and Career (ENGC) curriculum, improve lab and classroom spaces and technology, and improve academic support services such as tutoring, mentoring and coaching.

About Title III Strengthening Institutions Program

The purpose of the Title III Strengthening Institutions Program is to provide grants to eligible institutions of higher education to improve their academic programs, institutional management and fiscal stability in order to increase their self-sufficiency and strengthen their capacity to make a substantial contribution to the higher education resources of the Nation. (34 CFR 607.1)

The Title III grant is overseen by the college's Office of Academic Affairs
