The Università per Stranieri di Siena (University for Foreigners of Siena) is a public university specialized in the teaching of Italian as well as Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, Russian, French, German, Spanish and English. It is located not only in the safe city of Siena but also in one rich in culture.
The university has received the European Label for Languages eight times, from 2004 to 2013. This is an award given by the European Union for language projects that have promoted the teaching and learning of languages through innovation and effective teaching practices, encouraging awareness of European linguistic heritage and motivating citizens to pursue multilingualism throughout their lives.
Facilities include audiovisual and multimedia center, IT facilities, computer center, linguistic and computer laboratories and a library.
Students are taught in small, welcoming surroundings. Students are taught via "total immersion" into the Italian language. It is recommended that students prepare for the classes by taking free Italian online classes before arriving in Siena.
