Photography or Culinary in Italy

Students in Italy

Learn Italian and advance your photography or culinary skills in Italy! Experience the country's beauty and historic monuments, palaces, churches and more as you walk the cobblestone streets of Siena.

NWACC partners with Università per Stranieri di Siena (est.1921) to offer students and community members four weeks of classroom study in the Italian language and photography or culinary arts. One of the most attractive aspects of the Università is its diversity of students. In 2014, students from 95 countries attended the school.

The Università per Stranieri di Siena (University for Foreigners of Siena) is a public university specialized in the teaching of Italian as well as Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, Russian, French, German, Spanish and English. It is located not only in the safe city of Siena but also in one rich in culture.

The university has received the European Label for Languages eight times, from 2004 to 2013. This is an award given by the European Union for language projects that have promoted the teaching and learning of languages through innovation and effective teaching practices, encouraging awareness of European linguistic heritage and motivating citizens to pursue multilingualism throughout their lives.

Facilities include audiovisual and multimedia center, IT facilities, computer center, linguistic and computer laboratories and a library.

Students are taught in small, welcoming surroundings. Students are taught via "total immersion" into the Italian language. It is recommended that students prepare for the classes by taking free Italian online classes before arriving in Siena.
