International students interested in enrolling should contact Dale Montgomery or Viviana Pagan.  They are familiar with the special needs of international students, information regarding orientation, counseling and advising. In order to allow time for immigration processing, students should submit their applications as soon as possible. Completion of admissions cannot be guaranteed because of the variable processing time for visas. A student admitted as an "International Student" is one who is not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.


REQUIREMENTS

Students who are applying for F1 (Student) Visa

  • All applicants must complete one of the following exams and present the minimum score shown:

    • TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign language)

      Score: 500 (paper based) or 173 (computer based) or 61(internet based)

      OR

    • IELTS (International English Language Testing System)

      Score: 5.0

Exceptions:

(a) Applicants who have successfully completed at least 12 college credit hours in the U.S..

(b) Applicants who have successfully completed at least one academic year in a U.S. high school and obtain a minimum COMPASS placement score for the College Intensive English Program.
(c) Applicants who obtain a minimum score on the COMPASS exam to place them in the College Intensive English Program, and complete a satisfactory interview with the coordinator of the College Intensive English Program or their designee.

(d) Applicants who have a signed endorsement of English proficiency from the Spring International Language Center at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

  • Authenticated/Translated transcripts of academic records (high school or college). You must be a high school graduate.

  • Financial Statement.

  • Supplemental Information Form.

  • Non-refundable application fee of $35.00.

  • Proof of Health Insurance which includes a repatriation component. Health insurance must be obtained through an approved provider upon arrival in the U.S.. Enrollment must be completed before course registration.

  • MMR immunization shot record (measles, mumps and rubella). 2 MMR's are acquired after arrival in the U.S.

  • Copy of Visa and I-94 card (after your arrival)

  • Complete a screening for tuberculosis (t.b.) after arrival in U.S.

 

CONDITIONS

  • All students must take a placement test prior to registration. This can be done on campus after your arrival at the testing center.

  • International students will not be eligible to participate in federally funded financial aid programs.

  • Applicants may call (479) 619-4234 or (479) 619-4163 for an appointment with International Student Admissions when they have documentation ready to submit.

  • NWACC does not have transportation services or on-campus housing. Students are responsible for securing transportation and housing needs. There is limited public transportation provided by Ozark Transit.

Explanation of Costs

  1. All costs are minimum estimates, subject to change without notice.

  2. Room and board costs are based on a single person occupancy apartment.

  3. Personal expenses include laundry, snacks, recreation, clothing, travel or automobile maintenance is not included.

  4. Students accompanied by family members should have an additional $3,800 for spouse and $2,800 per child per year.

  5. NWACC course cost per credit hour is $127.00 (plus $15.00 per hour for administrative processing) and $9.50 per credit hour learning and technology fees. There is a $50.00 infrastructure fee per semester.
