About Microcredentials

Microcredentials are flexible, stackable skill sets that validate specific knowledge and abilities, allowing individuals to earn digital badges to showcase achievements. Designed to be completed in under a year, they equip students with competencies needed for high-demand jobs, enhancing career prospects for both newcomers and those looking to pivot.

Microcredentials are for anyone looking to enhance their skills and career opportunities. They can help those seeking to enter the job market build marketable skills while working professionals can use them to gain new skills for promotions, raises, or career shifts. Microcredentials are ideal for students and professionals alike, providing a way to showcase expertise and build a unique professional portfolio.

Earning a Microcredential involves taking the pre-selected courses identified as part of the Micro-pathway at NWACC and satisfying all the course requirements. The learner is awarded a Microcredential as a digital badge once the Micro-pathway is completed.

The time frame depends on the course, but most are completed in 16 weeks or less.
