The sixth annual THRiVE Running Day Camp will be held Tuesday through Thursday, June 2-4, for incoming 7th-12th grade students.

The three-day event, which has helped produce more than 17 high school state championships, will be held at two locations in Bentonville: Old Tiger Track and NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC).

The camp is an excellent opportunity for junior high and high school students in Northwest Arkansas, who want to compete at the collegiate level, to learn from collegiate coaches. Participants of all ages will learn unique ways to utilize their skills, which they can take home to work on throughout the summer. Learning sessions and drills will focus on distance running, sprints and strength and conditioning.

THRiVE Athletics and Events – which stresses “a little less ‘I’ and a lot more team” – was founded by Chris Weller, who serves as the assistant coach for NWACC Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country teams. Weller will instruct the camp, along with NWACC Head Coach Josphat Boit and James Karanu, former University of Arkansas Track All-American.

The camp will be held 8-11 a.m. each day, with check-in at 7:30 at the following locations:

  • Old Tiger Track (June 2 and 4), 517 Tiger Blvd., Bentonville
  • NWACC (June 3), 3201 SE NWACC Blvd. (Center for Health Professions), Bentonville
