NWACC will celebrate its first-ever homecoming with three days of events that will bring students, employees, alumni and neighbors together, culminating with an Eagles soccer doubleheader.

The new tradition begins Monday, Oct. 5, with a kickoff in the Student Center lobby, where students, employees and visitors can add a personal note to a community poster next to the campus’ new café, Eddie’s

On Tuesday, Oct. 6, students will make signs for the “nest,” a dedicated student cheering section, at Wednesday’s men’s and women’s soccer matches at David Gates Stadium in Rogers.

On game day Wednesday, Oct. 7, a Homecoming Pregame Party will be held on campus featuring music, photos, treats and Eagle spirit before fans head to the stadium for the games and a free cookout provided by the NWACC Foundation.

“We want our students to see themselves as part of the college’s culture and its future,” NWACC President Dennis C. Rittle said. “Athletics is great at bringing people together, and we want everyone – current students, alumni and members of the communities we serve – to come be a part of this inaugural homecoming for NWACC.

“This is the start of a tradition our students and community can make their own.”

Wednesday’s matches feature the NWACC Eagles taking on Northeastern A&M College in a conference match up at 5 p.m. (Women) and 7 p.m. (Men) at David Gates Stadium in Rogers. Admission to the games is free.

The NWACC Foundation will sponsor a free Homecoming Cookout between matches, with donated food from Tyson Foods, Mars Snacking, Kraft Heinz and Harris Bakery.

NWACC Athletics is built on the three pillars: 1) recreation and wellness, 2) club and intramural sports and 3) competitive NJCAA Sports. The homecoming celebration reflects Athletics’ role as a gathering point for the college and Northwest Arkansas. Soccer’s inaugural season gives students another way to participate in campus life and brings classmates, faculty, staff and community members together around their Eagles.
