NWACC is excited to announce that Arthur Bradford has been named its new senior vice president of finance and administration.
In the role, Bradford, who holds a doctorate in business administration from Marymount University in Arlington, Va., will oversee the college’s finance and budgeting, strategic planning, human resources, information technology, project management, public safety and risk management, as well as facilities, construction and campus operations.
Bradford formerly served as the University of North Texas at Dallas’s chief financial officer and senior vice president for administration. Also, his career includes leadership roles at the following Fortune 500 companies: Walmart, JCPenney, Conagra Brands and PepsiCo Frito-Lay.
At NWACC, he will serve as a member of President Dennis Rittle’s Cabinet. As a part of the senior leadership team, Bradford will help lead the college’s strategic and operational initiatives while supporting continued growth and excellence at the state’s largest community college.
“Dr. Bradford’s extensive experience in finance, both in higher education and the private sector, will be a tremendous asset for the college’s daily operations and strategic initiatives,” President Rittle said.
Originally from Jonesboro, La., Bradford understands firsthand the transformative power of education. A first-generation college student from a humble background, he recognized at an early age that education would provide opportunities to transform his future. Before entering higher education in 2020, he spent nearly 30 years building a successful career in the corporate sector.
“I’ve always loved learning, and I see myself in NWACC students, who are looking to transform their lives,” Bradford said. “I especially enjoy going to graduation ceremonies and watching students go from one side of the stage to the other, passing through that symbolic portal into the next chapter of their lives.”
Bradford said the college’s strong financial position, along with the strategic vision outlined in its Campus Master Plan, were some of the key reasons he was eager to come on board. He also cited the college’s strong partnerships with communities, businesses and organizations throughout Northwest Arkansas, creating a model environment for student success.
