As a new credit student, NWACC's enrollment steps are designed to align with your academic experience and goals. View the student descriptions below to see which best describes you and your goals at NWACC and then follow the enrollment steps provided.

Student Descriptions & Enrollment Steps
A student who has graduated from an accredited high school, home school, or has successfully completed a high school equivalent examination and has never attended a college or uni-versity since graduating.
- Complete the Online Application. NWACC has an admission policy that allows an individual to apply year-round however, it is recommended to apply early to get the best choices for classes. (www.nwacc.edu/apply)
- Activate Your My NWACC Student Account. Once you have been accepted to NWACC, you will receive an email with your NWACC username and required next steps. My NWACC provides access to your NWACC email account and Workday for class registration, financial aid, and much more.
- Complete Orientation. If you are attending college for the first time after completing high school or obtaining
a GED, you must complete the online College Student Orientation Course. Access the
Online Orientation Course and learn more at http://www.nwacc.edu/Orientation
- If you are having trouble logging in, contact the IT Help Desk at 479-619-4376.
- Complete Onboarding Tasks. Onboarding tasks will include submitting admissions documents, providing your emergency
contact, verifying your personal information, and completing other required tasks.
- To access Workday, sign in to My NWACC. In the middle of the screen under Applications, click on Workday.
- Once logged into Workday, you will find your required onboarding tasks in your My Tasks box (the inbox icon in the top right corner).
- Explore and Finalize Your Plan for Payment (As Applicable)
- Apply for Financial Aid. Complete your FAFSA and include NWACC’s code 030633 to begin the process (www.nwacc.edu/enrollment/financialaid/receivingfinaid).
- If needed, check with Enrollment Services for the status of your Financial Aid.
- Payment Plan Options. Once you have registered for classes, you may log in to your Workday account via My NWACC to set up a payment plan.
- Apply for Scholarships. Apply for NWACC’s internal scholarships (www.nwacc.edu/scholarships) and outside scholarships.
- Apply for Financial Aid. Complete your FAFSA and include NWACC’s code 030633 to begin the process (www.nwacc.edu/enrollment/financialaid/receivingfinaid).
- Submit Required Documentation
- Placement Test Scores - accepted for admission include ACT, SAT, CLT (Classic Learning Test), Accuplacer
Next Generation, and GED College Ready scores of 165 or higher. Submitted test scores
must be in English and include the student’s full name that matches what is on the
student’s account, at least one additional piece of personally identifiable information
(PII), such as date of birth or partial Social Security number, and be original to
the document.
- If you need to take the Accuplacer exam, visit the NWACC Testing Center (www.nwacc.edu/testingcenter).
- There may be a testing fee prior to taking the exam.
- Students who have not yet completed a college level math course and have an ACT Math score of 17 (seventeen) or below, are encouraged to take the math portion of the Accuplacer test.
- Students who have an ACT Reading and/or Writing score of 18 (eighteen) or below are encouraged to take the writing and reading portion of the Accuplacer test.
- If you need to take the Accuplacer exam, visit the NWACC Testing Center (www.nwacc.edu/testingcenter).
- High School Completion Documentation - As a first-time college student at NWACC, you are required to provide acceptable
proof of high school completion. Official final high school completion documents must
be submitted directly from the issuing high school, institution, or equivalency provider
(GED or HiSET) to Northwest Arkansas Community College (NWACC), either electronically
to or in a sealed/stamped unopened envelope. Documents sent through approved third-party
services such as Parchment, National Student Clearinghouse, Scribbles, SPEEDE, or
eScript must be sent directly to NWACC.
- Arkansas high school graduates: We will attempt to retrieve your final transcript through an Arkansas statewide database after your graduation date has passed. If we are unable to retrieve your final transcript, you will need to submit your documentation after being accepted. Final transcripts must include nclude the student’s full name that matches what is on the student’s account, at least one additional piece of personally identifiable information (PII), such as date of birth or partial Social Security number, the high school name, completed coursework, graduation date, and an official signature, stamp, or seal and must be submitted in the manner described above.
- Out of state high school and High School Equivalent Graduates: You will need to submit your documentation after being accepted. Documents must be typed in English and include the student’s full name that matches what is on the student’s account, at least one additional piece of personally identifiable information (PII), such as date of birth or partial Social Security number, graduation/completion or test pass date for High School Equivalent Graduates, and an official signature, stamp, or seal. GED, TASC, or HiSET score reports must include official test results and must be submitted in the manner described above.
- Non-U.S. high school graduates: You will be required to have your high school transcript evaluated by a serving member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to determine U.S. equivalency and submit the completed evaluation documentation. International transcripts must include a NACES-recognized evaluation verifying equivalency to a U.S. high school diploma. See Credential Translation Services for a list of approved evaluation providers.
- Proof of 2 Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) Immunizations - All students are required to submit acceptable proof of two doses of MMR vaccine,
an Arkansas Department of Health (ADH)-issued immunization exemption or immunity documentation
verified and provided by the ADH, or birth prior to 1957. Submitted documentation
must include the student’s full name that matches what is on the student’s account,
at least one additional piece of personally identifiable information (PII), such as
date of birth or partial Social Security number, and be original to the document.
- We will attempt to retrieve immunization records from an Arkansas statewide database. If we are unable to retrieve your documentation, you will need to submit your documentation after being accepted.
- If you received your immunizations outside of Arkansas, you will need to submit your
documentation after being accepted.
- Check with your doctor, previous high school or colleges attended and/or the immunization department for the state that your immunizations were administered in.

- To protect the privacy of your information and to comply with U.S. Department of Education
regulations, we can no longer accept documents by email. You can submit some of your
doc-uments in one of the ways below:
- Electronically upload the document via My NWACC.
- Directly to your student account in Workday.
- To access Workday, sign in to My NWACC. In the middle of the screen under Applications, click on Workday.
- Use the Help Guides for Students to assist with completing your onboarding tasks.
- Alternative method - Upload to DropBox using the steps below.
- Sign in to My NWACC.
- Scroll down to the middle of the page under Upload Documents to the NWACC Dropbox.
- Click Upload Documents and follow the onscreen prompts.
- Directly to your student account in Workday.
- Provide your physical document(s).
- In Person: Bring the document to Enrollment Services

- Complete Prior to the Start of the Semester:
- Obtain your student ID and parking hangtag at two convenient locations.
- NWACC Benton County: Becky Paneitz Student Center, Student Information Center, 1st Floor
- NWACC Washington County: Lobby, 1st Floor
- Purchase your textbooks and supplies.
- The NWACC Bookstore is located at NWACC Benton County on the 1st floor of the Becky Paneitz Student Center. Books may also be ordered online as well.
- Check your official NWACC email regularly - Your official NWACC email account can be accessed via your My NWACC student portal.
- Obtain your student ID and parking hangtag at two convenient locations.
A concurrent student is concurrently enrolled in high school, grades 9-12 and enrolling in classes at NWACC. High school students may earn college credit at NWACC by enrolling in con-current and dual programs.
Concurrent and Dual Enrollment provides the opportunity for students ninth to twelfth grade to earn college credits while still in high school. Students may be able to have the college credit count toward high school graduation as well and, in some cases, take a college class on their own high school campuses through Northwest Arkansas Community College’s Early College Experience program:
- Concurrent Enrollment is the enrollment of a high school student in a college course taught on a high school campus, or on the college campus, or by distance/digital technology for high school credit and college-level credit (Arkansas Code 6-18-223). Concurrent enrollment allows students to obtain credit toward a high school diploma at the same time they earn college credit.
- Dual Enrollment is the enrollment of a high school student in postsecondary education for college level credit exclusively. (Arkansas Code 6-60-202)
Find the most current NWACC Concurrent and Dual Enrollment (3010), refer to the NWACC policy database.
To be eligible, students must meet the following requirements:
- High School: currently enrolled in high school/home school (grades 9-12);
- GPA: 2.5 (on 4.0 scale) cumulative high school grade point average for general education, transfer classes; or 2.0 for Career and Technical Classes leading to an Associate of Applied Science degree or Certificate;
- Placement Test Scores: standardized placement scores (Accuplacer Next Generation, ACT, ACT Aspire, SAT, PSAT or CLT (Classic Learning Test) that demonstrate college level academic readiness according to guidelines determined by the State of Arkansas;
- Developmental Courses: A 12th grade student who has at least a 17 ACT sub-score in English, Reading, or Math may enroll in Developmental Courses in English, Reading, or Math.
Admissions and Enrollment Process for Eligible Students:
- Meet with High School Counselor/Home School Counselor to review your transcript and discuss the courses you would like to take at NWACC.
- Complete the Online Application. NWACC has an admission policy that allows an individual to apply year-round however, it is recommended to apply early to get the best choices for classes. (www.nwacc.edu/apply)
- Activate Your My NWACC Student Account - Once you have been accepted to NWACC, you will receive an email with your NWACC username and required next steps. My NWACC provides access to your NWACC email account and Workday.
- Complete Onboarding Tasks. Onboarding tasks will include submitting admissions documents, providing your emergency
contact, verifying your personal information, and completing other required tasks.
- To access Workday, sign in to My NWACC. In the middle of the screen under Applications, click on Workday.
- Once logged into Workday, you will find your required onboarding tasks in your My Tasks box (the inbox icon in the top right corner).
- Submit Required Documentation
- College Level Placement Test Scores - accepted for admission include ACT, SAT, PSAT, CLT (Classic Learning Test), Accuplacer
Next Generation and/or ACT Aspire 9 or 10. Submitted test scores must be in English
and include the student’s full name that matches what is on the student’s account,
at least one additional piece of personally identifiable information (PII), such as
date of birth or partial Social Security number, and be original to the document.
- College level placement test scores must be achieved in the subject area(s) in which you would like to take a class.
- For information on appropriate college level placement scores, see the placement chart in the NWACC College Catalog or contact earlycollege@nwacc.edu.
- If you need to take the Accuplacer exam, visit the NWACC Testing Center (www.nwacc.edu/testingcenter).
- There may be a testing fee prior to taking the exam

An international college student is a student who enters the United States on a nonimmigrant visa for the primary purpose of studying at an accredited college or university. Exceptions may include citizens of territories of the United States. Applicants who have Permanent Residency status or are DACA/undocumented are not considered international college students.
International students/scholars must adhere to all NWACC admission policies and will be required to provide additional documentation as a condition of admission. These individuals have been or will be granted an entry visa by the Federal Government and hold nonimmigrant documentation allowing collegiate studies. NWACC is authorized to issue Forms I-20 for eligible F-1 students and their dependents.
Definitions of an International College Student
- International Students are born outside the United States and have been granted F-1 visa status and hold a Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status, also known as Form I-20, sponsored through NWACC.
- Resident Aliens are born outside the United States of America and have been granted a Temporary Resident Status by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
- F-1 Visiting Students are international students who currently hold an F-1 Visa sponsored by another institution, not by NWACC.

Exceptions
- Legal Permanent Residents are non-U.S. citizens who have been granted Permanent Resident Status by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and are not considered international students.
- DACA/DREAMers: Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Dream Act recipients are not considered International Students due to their legal status with the United States Government.
- Refugees/Asylees: A person who has been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, political turmoil, or natural disaster. These individuals are eligible for enrollment without restrictions.
- Temporary Residents are individuals born outside the United States who have been granted temporary legal residency status through United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). These individuals are eligible for enrollment without restrictions.
- Temporary Protected Status: Granted to eligible citizens of designated countries during the period for which a country has been designated for TPS by the United States government. These individuals are eligible for enrollment without restrictions.
International Student Categories:
- First-Time International College Student: Students outside of the United States who wish to attend NWACC as an F-1 international student.
- Transferring International College Student: International students on an F-1 Visa at another United States institution who wish to transfer to NWACC.
- Visiting International College Student: International students on an F-1 Visa who do not need F-1 sponsorship from NWACC and wish to enroll in NWACC classes for one or more semesters.

International Students Residing Outside of the United States (F-1 Student Visa)
The following items must all be submitted to NWACC before an I-20 is issued:

- Activate your My NWACC Student Account - Once you have been accepted to NWACC, you will receive an email with your NWACC username and required next steps. My NWACC provides access to your NWACC email account and Workday to complete your onboarding tasks, class registration, and much more.
- Complete Onboarding Tasks. Onboarding tasks will include submitting admissions documents, providing your emergency
contact, verifying your personal information, and completing other required tasks.
- To access Workday, sign in to My NWACC. In the middle of the screen under Applications, click on Workday.
- Once logged into Workday, you will find your required onboarding tasks in your My Tasks box (the inbox icon in the top right corner).
- Submit Required Documentation
- Copy of your Passport
- Completed Financial Awareness Form
- Proof of Financing - Bank statements must be from within 6 months
- High School or College Transcript/Diploma Evaluation Results
- Non-U.S. Transcripts (High School and College) must be evaluated by a current member
of NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) before they are
turned into the Enrollment Support Center at NWACC.

- Course descriptions may be required as well

- Acceptance Letter and Applying for F-1 Visa
- Once all admission items listed above are received and validated, NWACC will issue
an acceptance letter and an “initial” I-20.
- After the I-20 has been received, the student will need to apply for a Visa.

A student previously enrolled at NWACC who is returning after not being registered in successive spring and fall semesters. Early College Experience (ECE) students are not considered returning students. Please refer to the first time student instructions (if applicable).

A student who is 18 (eighteen) years old of age or older and has neither graduated from an accredited high school, homeschool nor completed a high school equivalent examination. A special admission student will not be eligible to participate in federally funded financial aid programs and may enroll in 12 (twelve) hours of classes each semester while considered in special student status. These students are considered non-degree seeking students.
