Spring 2018 Orientation Info



We are excited to welcome you as part of Northwest Arkansas Community College's incoming freshman class! We want to help you get started off right. Paying close attention to the information on this page will help ensure a smooth enrollment process for you.


Orientation is a two step process:

Part 1: Online Orientation Course (information below)

Part 2: On-Campus Orientation and Advising (you will pick a time at the end of Part 1) 





Before I take Online Orientation, what must I do?

Important! Before you start Orientation and meet with an Advisor, you must complete the below steps. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of your academic advising appointment.

  1. Been accepted to Northwest Arkansas Community College. Note: once your application is processed, you will receive an email at the personal email account you provided on the application.
  2. Submitted ACT, COMPASS, or Accuplacer placement exam scores for initial course placement to the Office of Student Records. Scores should be no more than 5 years old), or take Accuplacer exam at the NWACC Testing Center ($10 fee). Important: If your ACT Math score is a 17 or below, you are required to complete the Math portion of the Accuplacer exam prior to signing up for a session. When will Orientation be available?

Orientation Part 1 will become available November 6th. When you complete Part 1 you will be prompted to select a date to participate in Part 2. The first available appointment for Part 2 will be for the week of November 13th.


Can I meet with an advisor before taking Online Orientation?

No. You cannot meet with an advisor and select your first-semester courses until you complete Part 1: Online Orientation Course and submit Test Scores (see above). If you schedule an Advising Appointment without completing Part 1 of orientation, it will be cancelled.

Where do I take Online Orientation?

NWACC's Online Orientation course is a self-enrollable course within NWACC's Blackboard system (the same system that our online courses are accessed from). The orange button below will take you to step-by-step instructions for self-enrolling in the course through your Blackboard Account.

 Please note: you will need to have your NWACC Username and Password to access Online Orientation. This information is located on your Acceptance Email.

 If you do not have internet access at home, you are welcome to use any of the many public-use computers available at the NWACC computer labs or library to complete Online Orientaiton.
