I am requesting multiple degrees and certifications, should I submit multiple applications?

No, submit only one graduation application. The application has the option to select multiple degrees and certificates.

How long does it take a graduation application to be processed?

Please allow up to 3 - 4 weeks for processing. You will be contacted by email once your application has been processed.

What if I have taken a class and it is not being applied to my degree plan?

Students will need to work with an academic or department advisor for further review.

When will my degree show on my transcript?

Your degree/certificate will reflect on your transcript after you are awarded. Once awarded, you will receive an email notification through your NWACC email. Awarding can take 3 – 4 weeks after grades are recorded for the term.

I need to prove my degree status but have not received my diploma.

If you have not received your diploma, you may request an official copy of your transcript (hyperlink to form) to prove your degree status

Am I eligible to wear an honor cord at the commencement ceremony?

To wear an honor cords at the commencement ceremony, students cumulative GPA prior to the semester before the ceremony must be a 3.5 or higher and have completed at least 24 hours at NWACC.

Am I eligible for honors if I am only receiving a certificate?

Certificate graduates are not eligible to wear honor cords for the commencement ceremony.

You are eligible for honors if you have completed at least 15 hours at NWACC and have a cumulative GPA of a 3.5 or higher.

Do I have to attend commencement to receive my diploma?

You do not have to attend the commencement ceremony to receive your diploma. Diplomas are mailed by Diplomas on Demand, directly to the address you provided on the graduation form. Expect to receive a diploma in the mail 2 months after grades are recorded for the term.

I would like to attend the May commencement ceremony, but I will not complete my degree until the summer term.

If you are finishing your degree requirements in the following summer term and would like to attend the May commencement, you must turn in the graduation application by March 1st.

Can I still receive financial aid after being awarded an Associate's degree?

Students receiving financial aid should wait to apply for graduation until the final semester at NWACC. Receiving an Associate's degree may affect your financial aid.

When is my commencement ceremony?

The commencement page will update with detailed information in April.

Is there a commencement ceremony rehearsal?

NWACC does not have a commencement ceremony rehearsal, but we offer a Graduation Information session at the beginning of May that will review this information. You will receive notification in April regarding the details of the session.

How to get a replacement diploma?

Replacement diplomas are printed on demand at the Student Records office and will look slightly different from your original diploma. Email Graduation@nwacc.edu for more information on replacement diplomas.
