Graduation Information

NorthWest Arkansas Community College will award degrees and certificates after each term. Students are eligible to apply for graduation after registering for their final semester. We highly recommend meeting with an academic advisor before submitting the application. Deadline to apply for graduation is November 1st for Fall, March 1st for Spring and July 1st for Summer.

After applying for graduation, you will have one year to complete your degree or you will need to reapply for graduation.

General Degree Requirements

To be eligible for a degree, students must have at least a 2.0 GPA and have earned at least 15 credits hours at NWACC.  To be eligible for a certificate, students must have at least a 2.0 GPA and have earned at least 7 credits hours at NWACC. Students must clear all their accounts, pay fines and outstanding debts prior to graduation. Please keep in mind that degree plan requirements vary and students will need to consult with their advisor to ensure all graduation requirements are met.

Graduation Honors

Students are eligible to wear honor cords at the commencement ceremony for their degrees, if they have completed at least 24 hours at NWACC and have a cumulative GPA of a 3.5 or higher.

3.5 Magna Cum Laude
4.0 Summa Cum Laude
Certificate graduates are not eligible to wear honor cords for the commencement ceremony.


Students do not have to attend commencement to receive their diploma. Diplomas are mailed to the address listed on the graduation form directly to students from Diplomas on Demand. Students who completed all their degree/certificate requirements can expect to receive their diploma in the mail 2 months after grades are recorded for the term.

Career Services

Career Services' primary goal is to connect students to valuable resources necessary to prepare them with starting their career as well as to be successful in the workplace. By partnering with the Career Services Coordinator, you will receive:

  • Individual assistance with cover letters, resumes, and practice interviews;
  • Access to NWACC's College Central Network, an online job portal
  • Individual assistance about various topics such as dress for success, interviewing, creating 
     a successful LinkedIn profile, etc.
  • Annual Majors/Career Fairs;
  • One-on-one  career coaching– Job Readiness Certification opportunity;
