NWACC Upward Bound Program

Our Mission

The mission of the NorthWest Arkansas Community (NWACC) Upward Bound Project is to empower participants by building the skills and encouraging the motivation of each participant to complete their secondary education and to continue to a postsecondary education program.

Upward Bound provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. Upward Bound serves high school students from low-income families; and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor's degree. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of post-secondary education. The Northwest Arkansas Community College Upward Bound program actively recruits and accepts students in the 9th and 10th grades from the following schools in Benton and Washington Counties:

  • Rogers High School
  • Rogers Heritage High School
  • Rogerrs New Tech High School
  • Springdale Southwest Junior High
  • Springdale Lakeside Junior High
  • Gentry
  • Decatur
  • Gravette
