New Faculty Welcome Development Week

When and Where

Date: August 1-4, 2016
Time: Session times vary but scheduled 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Place: Teaching & Learning Center, Burns Hall 1324 on the NWACC Main Campus

The NWACC New Faculty Welcome Development Week is a week where all new faculty (full-time and part-time) come together to meet established faculty and each other, building a support network and connecting with people from across the college. In addition, the new faculty learn about their role within the institution by exploring and learning what a learning college looks like at NWACC through the organization's implementation of the learning college principles, and ways to design a learning-centered syllabus as a clear and inclusive document reflecting learning expectations. Faculty receive technology instruction on My NWACC Connection (MNC) and Blackboard for face-to-face classes. In preparation for instruction, faculty will learn about the needs of our students based on data specific to NWACC.  Finally, faculty is introduced to available NWACC academic support resources. Time is built into sessions for faculty to take what they have learned and incorporate it into their work.  Attendance by all new faculty is expected. All faculty are encouraged and welcomed to take advantage of these sessions for further development and get to know our newest faculty members.

Email to sign up for these sessions. Please indicate which session and on which day.
