Communication & Arts

The Communication and Arts department at NWACC encompasses art, communication, dance, English, graphic design, foreign language, music, and theatre classes. Courses are taught by highly-qualified instructors, some of whom are published writers and composers, award winning musicians, and playwrights.
Through the Communication and Arts department, students have the opportunity to earn a degree in Graphic Design, or a certificate in Cinematic Studies leading to placement in the workforce, or to complete a number of prerequisite courses toward their degree in a different division of the College.
Our instructors take advantage of the many cultural offerings throughout northwest Arkansas such as Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Walton Arts Center by offering off-site meetings, sponsoring special performances, and providing educational opportunities at these attractions. We are also proud to have our own performance and exhibition venues on campus for seasonal art, music concerts, and theater productions, giving our students the opportunity to spotlight their work throughout the year.
With a full calendar of student and faculty art exhibitions, music concerts, and theatre productions, the visual and performing arts community is thriving at NWACC.
