Required Blackboard Training

For Classroom Instructors

As an instructor at NWACC, you are required to get training for the Blackboard 9.1 system in order to implement it as a supplemental tool and in case of an extended school closing. Blackboard can be used as a back-up to continue student learning outside the classroom as needed. This training will teach you how to navigate the system, upload your syllabus, use communication tools, and make announcements. This training is offered online, although you may email DL@nwacc.edu directly if you would like a face-to-face session.

Online & Hybrid Class Instructors

If you are scheduled to teach or would like to be considered to teach an online or hybrid course, you are required to take the more extensive Blackboard training. The full training covers advanced features as well as required elements that should be present in all online courses at NWACC. Please email DL@nwacc.edu to be enrolled into the online training.

Additional Blackboard Training

If you need specific Blackboard training, or want to move up to the next level of distance teaching, please contact us at DL@nwacc.edu. We also staff the TLC, BH 1324, for walk in assistance.

Blackboard's help pages are a great resource for browsing the various features and tools.

Teaching and Learning Center

The Teaching and Learning Center [TLC] exists to support NWACC's learning-centered mission by helping faculty find innovative ways to accomplish their teaching goals through providing collaborative development opportunities in the use of specialized instructional technology. Please see the TLC calendar for current events.
