Prerequisites

 

College Algebra (or higher) and English Composition I (or higher):

There are four ways to satisfy these pre-requisite requirements:

  1. Submit a copy of official transcripts from an accredited college or university showing College Algebra and English Composition I with a grade C or better to retail@nwacc.edu.  If these classes were transferred from one college to another, the transcripts from the college where the classes were taken will be needed to see the grade.  Grades for transferred classes do not usually show up on the transferred colleges transcript.
  2. Take the COMPASS test scoring 46 or higher on the College Algebra section of the exam and 90 or higher on the English Composition I test.  This test is given at the NWACC Testing Center.  To make an appointment, follow this LINK.
  3. Take the CLEP test for College Algebra and English Composition.  For more information on the CLEP test, please go to the CLEP website.
  4. Enroll in College Algebra or English Composition I class at NWACC or another accredited college.

 

XCMP 9034 – CRA Intro to MS Office 2010:

There are five ways to satisfy these pre-requisite requirements:

  1. Submit a copy of official transcripts from an accredited college or university showing a computer class within the past three years that covers Microsoft Office with a grade "C" or higher to retail@nwacc.edu.  If this class was transferred from one college to another, the transcripts from the college where the class was taken will be needed to see the grade.  Grades for transferred classes do not usually show up on the transferred colleges transcriptFinal decision will be at the discretion of the Director of Retail and Supplier Education.
  2. Take the CISQ Challenge Test scoring a composite grade of 80% or greater with no section score below 70%.  All four sections must be taken; MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Access.  This test is given at the NWACC Testing Center.  To make an appointment, follow this LINK
  3. This may be waived if a student is Microsoft Certified and provides a copy of the certificate for MS Office 2010 certification that includes MS Word 2010, MS PowerPoint 2010, MS Excel 2010, and MS Access 2010.
  4. Enroll in Intro to CISQ 1103 Computer Information class at NWACC or another accredited college.  This class is considered as a credit course.
  5. Enroll in XCMP 9034 CRA Intro to MS Office at NWACC Corporate Learning by filling out the Retail and Supplier Education registration form and submitting it to retail@nwacc.edu.

 

XCMP 9037– Advanced Excel and Access for Retail:

There are two ways to satisfy these pre-requisite requirements:

  1. Email retail@nwacc.edu to schedule to take a 3 hour long exam if you have passed the CISQ Challenge Test with a score of 90% or greater with no section score below 70%.
  2. Enroll in XCMP 9037 Advanced Excel and Access for Retail class at NWACC Corporate Learning by filling out the Retail and Supplier Education registration form and submitting it to retail@nwacc.edu.

These pre-requisite classes must be satisfied before registering for the Certified Retail Analyst classes!
