Physical Therapist Assistant Faculty
Ms. Eddie graduated from the NWACC PTA Program in 1999 with an Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant. She received her Bachelor's degree in Business Management from John Brown University in 2001 and her Master's degree in Business Administration in 2011 from John Brown University. Ms. Eddie became a full-time faculty member in the PTA Program and Director of Clinical Education in 2007. She has been active in the community with her participation in fundraising with the ALS, Cystic Fibrosis, Komen and other various charities. Her clinical background includes: acute care, home health, and outpatient rehabilitation. She also served as the Director of Rehabilitation at a local skilled nursing facility, and is an APTA certified clinical instructor. Ms. Eddie is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association education and neurological sections.
Mrs. Jennifer Vincenzo graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut in January 1999. She received her Master of Public Health Degree from Southern Connecticut State University in 2003 and is also a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). Mrs. Vincenzo accepted the full time faculty position for the NWACC PTA program in 2010. She is currently pursuing her Doctoral degree at the University of Arkansas and was named doctoral student of the year for 2012-2013. Jennifer's clinical background experience includes acute care, pediatrics, wound care, home health, inpatient and outpatient orthopedics and neurological rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and acute rehabilitation. She has also been a lead therapist, a program coordinator for a hospital-based geriatric program, and is an APTA certified clinical instructor.
Mr. Spears graduated in 2010 Magna Cum Laude from the NWACC PTA Program with an Associate's Degree of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant. Craig has served on the Advisory Board for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program since 2010. He has worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant for the past 3 years and served as a Clinical instructor for the past 2 years in various settings to include long-term care and out-patient settings. Mr. Spears served as adjunct and mock patient for two years prior to accepting his full-time position in 2013.
Julie Ann Matkins, LPTA
Julie Ann Matkins graduated in 2001 Magna Cum Laude from NWACC with honors and at the top of the class 4.0 GPA with an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant. She also achieved the title, Outstanding Student of the Year for 2000-2001. She served on the Advisory Board for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at NWACC from 2003 to 2005. Mrs. Matkins has worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant for the past 8 years in a variety of setting including home healthcare, acute care, outpatient orthopedics, in school therapy and skilled nursing facilities.
Amanda Webb, PTA
Amanda graduated in 2006 Magna Cum Laude from the NWACC PTA Program with an Associate's Degree of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant. Mrs. Webb has 7 years of experience in the field of pediatrics and currently serves on the PTA Program Advisory Board, and is a Clinical Instructor for NWACC PTA Program students. Mrs. Webb is also certified through Kinesio Tex in level one and two Kinesio taping.
