Cyber Security Center Director
Kimberly Bertschy received her Bachelor of Science Education and Master’s of Science
in Operations Management at the University of Arkansas. She also obtained a Master’s
of Science in Cyber Security from Utica College in New York, and is currently pursuing
a Doctor of Science in Computer Science.
Kimberly’s research interests include security vulnerabilities in the embedded systems
of heavy trucks and passenger vehicles, cyber security education, and the use of technology
to facilitate violence.
Kimberly also teaches networking and cyber security related topics at NWACC. In addition
to teaching at the college, she advises the TALONS student club, serves on the behavioral
review team, and collaborates with community organizations to provide outreach in
the areas of technology facilitated violence, internet safety, and cyber security.
Kimberly is an active member and Executive Officer of InfraGard Arkansas Members Alliance
and sits on the Board of Directors for ArkanSec, LLC.
Prior to teaching, Kimberly was a police investigator for the University of Arkansas
Police Department (UAPD). During her nine years with UAPD, she received computer forensic
training from the United States Secret Service and served on a joint task force with
the FBI.
