Computer Station

As our generation becomes more technical and with more information shared electronically, there is a growing demand for professionals knowledgeable in database development. It’s for this reason that NorthWest Arkansas Community College is pleased to offer an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems – Database Development degree. This degree is perfect for those students who choose to enter the workforce immediately after graduating from this two-year program.

Almost every business relies on databases for business transactions, customer/account management, payroll, and inventory, just to name a few. As businesses continue compiling data and trying to leverage that data into a competitive advantage, database development will continue to be a valued skill set. The more businesses rely on data, the more the demand will grow for employees with database development skills.

Students that pursue Database Development will be prepared to use database tools to manage, process, organize, and effectively communicate information. Beyond having a solid foundation on which to build a career or further your computer science education, the Database Development track can help you begin highly sought-after, professional certification with Microsoft SQL Server.
