History of Award and Namesake
Dick Trammel’s vision and leadership were instrumental in the establishment of NorthWest Arkansas Community College. Through his commitment and dedication, NWACC has grown from the “college without walls” to an innovative, comprehensive institution that serves over 8,500 students. This award is named in honor of Mr. Trammel because of his continued support and dedication to the college, our students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The Dick Trammel Outstanding Alumni Award has been awarded annually since 2009.
Definition of NWACC Alumni
- NWACC Alumni are defined as any person who has received a degree or certificate from the college.
- NWACC former students are defined as any person who has taken at least one class at NWACC.
*NWACC Alumni and Former Students are eligible for this award
Criteria for Nomination
- The candidate has attended NorthWest Arkansas Community College and earned either 15 college credit hours or completed 225 contact hours in non-credit courses.
- The candidate has achieved success in his/her career field.
- The candidate has made a positive impact on his/her community through any of the following:
- public service activities (including military service or public office);
- civic or philanthropic engagement;
- community leadership;
- volunteerism; or
- involvement in NWACC recruitment and retention activities.
Deadline and Submission Information
- Anyone is welcome to submit nominations for this award. NWACC faculty, staff, and alumni are particularly encouraged to nominate candidates.
- Completed nomination forms must be received no later than April 1, 2012.
- Submit nominations via email to the selection committee chair at jpope5@nwacc.edu.
