Wireless Internet Access for Students

In both the Student Center and the Burns Hall Eagles Nest area wireless Internet access is available for student use. In each place you have to sign-in to use wireless as Wi-FI access is not feasible for a higher education institution (Wi-Fi is non-authenticated and anonymous as in a coffee shop.)

There is a one-time set up that only requires about 2 minutes to complete and once you have done that, and as long as you continue to be a student at NWACC, you will be able to access wireless Internet at any of our facilities that have wireless access available.

The set up is documented online:

1. From the NWACC home page (www.nwacc.edu) click on “Students”

2. Click on either “Connect to the wireless network, NWACCFreeNet” or “Connect to the wireless network, NWACCFreeNet for Vista” (if you need assistance with this set up the people at the Information Desk in the Student Center will be happy to assist you.

3. Once you have completed the set up, you use your NWACC username and password (your ID number) each time you want to access wireless on campus.

Our direction is to have authenticated wireless in all NWACC home campus buildings this academic year. And, hopefully, wireless access will be in all NWACC facilities soon.
