NWACC enters first day of classes with 5,971 students

            BENTONVILLE (Aug. 20, 2007) – NorthWest Arkansas Community College entered its first day of classes Monday, Aug. 20, with 5,971 students, or 748 more students than it did on the first day of classes one year ago.

            The number of students enrolled the first day is a 14.3% increase over the first-day enrollment last year.

            NWACC reported to the Arkansas Department of Higher Education on the 11th class day of 2006 an enrollment of 5,732.

            NWACC Enrollment Management employees expect another 100-200 students to register this week in classes that remain open and then to enroll about 400-500 Step Ahead (high school concurrent) students before the 11th class day.

            The 11th day of class is Tuesday, Sept. 4.
