Mike Willard elected to chair Staff Council

Mike Willard was elected to chair the NWACC Staff Council for 2008-2009, outgoing chair Becky Hudson told members at their annual banquet Friday, April 11, in the Student Center.

Other officers elected by membership were Vice Chair Lynda Lloyd, Secretary Linda Long, Membership Officer Alex Joseph, and Event Officer Li Mounce.

The banquet was held in the Student Center.

Guest speaker was President Dr. Becky Paneitz, who told members she appreciates each of them and talked about the important role they play in the student learning process.

“You are a strength of the institution,” she said.

Li Mounce.and Dr. Steve Cooper provided entertainment.

Mounce sang a beautiful rendition of “That's Amore.”

Dr. Cooper presented “Six Months Walking the Wilds of Western Europe,” regaling Staff Council members with stories. Dr. Cooper said a journal would be available for purchase in June.

Committee members that worked the banquet were Christi Charles, Diana Hoke, Rebecca Hudson, Lou Lo, Sandra Portillo, Stacy Reagan, Christy Reynolds, Davene Shapre, and Claudia Tonihka.
