Aldama selected for Adult Ed Leadership Academy

    Ben Aldama  BENTONVILLE (Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007) – Ben Aldama, director of NWACC Adult Education Department, has been accepted into the Arkansas Adult Education Leadership Academy.

       This initiative for program directors is sponsored by the National Adult Education Professional Development Consortium, ProLiteracy America, and Arkansas Adult Education, he said.

       The pilot project will take place from October to December 2008.

       There will be three face-to-face workshops in Little Rock, two on-line courses and three webcasts.

       “I believe my participation will help me provide leadership to our program,” Aldama said.

       The NWACC Adult Education program serves about 3,500 individuals each calendar year.

       Classes are taught at its center on North Second Street in Rogers and in the afternoon and evenings at public school buildings in Rogers, Gentry and Siloam Springs.

       Adult Education has five full-time and 17 part-time teachers.

       NWACC has the largest ESL program in Arkansas.
