Matthew Petty to discuss green-collar jobs in northwest Arkansas
BENTONVILLE (Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008) - Matthew Petty will discuss “green-collar jobs in northwest Arkansas” 7-8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the Shewmaker Center Wal-Mart Auditorium on the campus of NorthWest Arkansas Community College.
Petty’s presentation is part of the Shewmaker Center for Global Business Development breakfast speaker’s series.
He will focus on regional sustainable growth opportunities.
“Matthew is an entrepreneur, a nonprofit director, and a member of the City Council in Fayetteville,” said Dr. Donna Wood, associate vice president for NWACC Global Business Development. “He is a strong advocate for energy, climate, and economic solutions on the state and local policy levels, and he leads workshops and presentations on the green-collar economy throughout Arkansas.”
Petty, she said, is especially interested in the intergenerational dynamics of our changing business, education, and political environments.
“With the current state of our economy, it is encouraging to hear a positive message of how northwest Arkansans can thrive on the front lines of sustainability and the green movement,” Wood said.
