NWACC Celebrate Learning draws 219 faculty
NorthWest Arkansas Community College faculty geared up for the Fall 2008 Semester by attending Celebrate Learning for Faculty on Tuesday morning, Aug.19.
In past years, Celebrate Learning for Faculty was offered over two days with sessions being offered the Tuesday before classes in the morning and Wednesday afternoon of the same week.
This year, sessions were offered only on the Tuesday with 50 minute sessions due to responses given on the Celebrate Learning survey that was administered at the end of the Spring 2008 term.
A total of 219 participants attended nine sessions, said Jo Ann Schwader, Faculty Professional Development Coordinator/Music Faculty.
The sessions were Coffee with the Cabinet, College Honors Programs, Learner-Centered Faculty Development Program, AQIP Systems Portfolio, The Learning College: Part I-Six Principles, The Learning College: Part II-Student Centeredness, The Learning-Centered Faculty Evaluation Plan, How To Develop Measureable Course Outcomes, and Program Review and You.
These session topics were chosen to align with our Ends and Goal Statements, state program requirements, the AQIP process, and Learning College principles.
Thank you to all who presented, including April Brown, Donna Wood, Conrad Krauft, Karen Tinker, Angie Albright (pictured above), Diana Nagel, Ricky Tompkins, Rhonda Crider, and Jo Ann Schwader!
In addition, thanks to the Dr. Paneitz and the cabinet for hosting the Coffee with the Cabinet session.
A nice array of continental breakfast items was provided for Coffee with the Cabinet and breaks between sessions. Drawings for door prizes concluded the activities of the morning.
Celebrate Learning for Staff is currently being planned. Watch the NWACC announcements and Weekly Insider for details.
