Registration under way for Lean and Green workshop
BENTONVILLE (Wednesday, July 23, 2008) – Leaders in all industry sectors are looking for ways to cut costs, reduce negative environmental impact and improve their bottom lines.
Corporate Learning at NorthWest Arkansas Community College is seeking to support business and industry in these endeavors by providing training that supports these initiatives. The Lean and Green EVSM workshop series will consist of several workshops specifically tailored to the manufacturing / construction, retail, packaging, and transportation / logistics industries.
The focus of these workshops will be on integrating Lean with the most effective tool for analyzing and reducing energy consumption / costs, Energy Value Stream Mapping. The result is a controlled energy reduction plan that will significantly impact the bottom line and improve service to clients, while reducing the carbon footprint.
Implementation will methodically eliminate waste while improving processes, providing the ability to accurately measure energy improvements.
LEAD, or Lean Advisors Inc., will lead the workshops. LEAD is a global leader in providing Lean training and implementation guidance.
LEAD’s Lean expertise has been instrumental in saving companies as much as $ 2 million with implementation of Lean methodologies.
The first workshop will be held Aug. 13-15 and will focus on the manufacturing and construction industries. Day one will consist of lecture and discussion and will be held at NWACC’s Shewmaker Center for Workforce Technologies in Bentonville. Days two and three will feature applied learning, and will be held at Kennametal in Rogers. The cost is $ 1, 995 per person. The registration deadline is July 30. Lunch will be included on the first day.
