Alumni Office seeks nominations for award
BENTONVILLE (Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009) - The NWACC Alumni Office is seeking nominations for the Dick Trammel Outstanding Alumni Award. Nominees should fulfill the following criteria:
- The candidate has attended NorthWest Arkansas Community College and earned either 15 college credit hours or completed 225 contact hours in non-credit courses.
- The candidate has achieved success in his/her career field.
- The candidate has made a positive impact on his/her community through any of the following:
- public service activities (including military service or public office);
- civic or philanthropic engagement;
- community leadership;
- volunteerism; or
- involvement in NWACC recruitment and retention activities.
According to Becky Hudson, NWACC Alumni Relations Coordinator, “there are thousands of successful NWACC alumni in the Northwest Arkansas area and many are making a big difference in the community; we want to recognize those that are making a difference.”
The selected award recipient will be recognized and deliver brief remarks during the 18th annual commencement ceremony on Friday, May 8, 2009 at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers. He or she will also be recognized at the annual Arkansas Association of Two Year Colleges convention in the fall of 2009.
Anyone is welcome to submit nominations for this award. NWACC faculty, staff, and alumni are particularly encouraged to nominate candidates. To obtain a nomination form contact Becky Hudson at rhudson1@nwacc.edu or 479-619-3103. Completed nominations must be received no later than January 23, 2009.
