Welcome to Northwest Arkansas!

NorthWest Arkansas Community College is a comprehensive, public two-year college located in beautiful Bentonville, Arkansas that serves and strengthens the community through learning for living. Bentonville, together with sister cities along the Interstate 540 corridor of Rogers, Springdale, and Fayetteville make up one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the nation. The Northwest Arkansas region boasts home to the corporate offices of Wal-Mart, Tyson Foods, J.B. Hunt and the state’s Flagship University of Arkansas. Nestled in the Boston Mountains the region includes the Arkansas and Missouri Railroad, which provides scenic rail excursions through the Boston Mountains, Shiloh Museum of Ozark History at Springdale, and two nearby Civil War battlefields: Pea Ridge National Military Park and Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park. The area is well- known for water sports and fishing in the nearby Beaver Lake and the White River.

Voters in the Bentonville and Rogers Public School Districts founded NWACC on August 15, 1989, when a  3-mill property tax to support the new institution was passed by voters by a 65-percent margin. NWACC opened its doors to 1,200 students in August 1990 and currently has in excess of 6,600-college credit students (Spring 2008), making it one of the largest and fastest growing two-year colleges in Arkansas.
