Lending Policy
Library materials may be borrowed by NWACC students, faculty, administration, staff and alumni. To obtain a library card, it is necessary to have a College photo ID. The Library will place a barcode on the back of the ID to serve as your library card. For YOUR protection, please present your ID each time you have materials to check out.

Type of Material Limits   (Total of 9 items)  Loan Periods
CDs, DVDs, Videos 2 Total 7 days
Books 3 per subject 21 days

Renew Library Materials
If you would like to renew an item, please contact the NWACC Library by phone (479-619-4244), email or in person. We will extend your checkout period, unless someone else is waiting for your item or your renewal limits have been exceeded. Due to technical difficulties, online renewal is temporarily disabled.

Interlibrary Loans
NWACC Library will borrow from other libraries books and journal articles that we do not own. This service is provided for anyone with a current NWACC Library card. Requests may be placed by using FirstSearch to find the books or articles needed and sending an electronic request. Or, if the information about the book or article is already known, the interlibrary loan request form may be completed and submitted. Typically, it takes about two or three weeks for requests to be processed. When the requested item is available for checkout at the NWACC Library, the borrower will be notified through NWACC email.

NWACC Library absorbs the costs of the first three requests per student per semester. There is a fee of $3.00 for each additional request. The individual borrower is responsible for any overdue fines and for the cost of lost or damaged items. To request a renewal, e-mail the Library. Renewals must be requested before the due date, and approval is at the discretion of the lending library.

ARKLink Cards
Would you like to use a local academic library such as The Mullins Library at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville? ARKLink is a consortium of Arkansas academic libraries that have agreed to share resources. Through ARKLink, NWACC faculty, students and staff have limited borrowing privileges at many academic libraries across Arkansas.

To obtain an ARKLink card, present your NWACC college ID at the circulation desk. After a short registration process, you will receive an ARKLink card and a list of participating libraries. For more information stop by the library or visit the ARKLink website.

Math Multimedia
For most math classes, the Library has videotapes, DVDs and/or CD-ROMs that accompany the textbook. Ask for them at the Circulation Desk.

Language Multimedia at Pauline Whitaker Library
For some foreign language classes, the Library has audiotapes or CD's that accompany the textbook. For students who provide blank tapes or CD's, the Library will make a copy at no charge. Find out at the Circulation Desk how many and what type of tapes or CD's are needed.

Gift Policy

The library welcomes gifts of books and other library materials, but reserves the right to use and dispose of gift materials as seems appropriate for current needs.

Donated items will be added to the collection in accordance with the Collection Development policy.

The library will acknowledge receipt of donated items but is unable to set a fair market or appraisal value on the material.

The library reserves the right to refuse donations determined to be inappropriate for the collection. Because processing and/or disposing of donations takes valuable staff time and resources, we ask that donors limit gifts to items that are in good to excellent condition, clean, suitable for the academic environment and current. (For example, materials covering information in the health, science and technology fields should typically be no more than three years old.)

The library reserves the right to refuse donations if the donor stipulates special conditions.

If you have questions or comments about the Library web pages,
 please e-mail the Library.
