WHAT DIRECTION TO POINT YOUR CAREER?

The Career Services Team can help! 

But we need you to do the following first…

• Pick up a Kuder Career Assessment worksheet or email us and ask for one to be sent so that you can complete the 3 computerized assessments on-line.
• Check out the NWACC degree plans on the NWACC website www.nwacc.edu click on current students, then degree plans.
•  Visit the academic departments that house the programs you are interested in on their website and check out the FAQ’s, etc.  (You can access the department websites by clicking academics on the left hand menu from the home page then clicking academic departments.)
• Visit the Career Center website and utilize the various tools there to help you such as the “What can I do with my major?” link.
• Note when workshops are during the current semester and see if the topics may address your needs; such as Career Exploration and Assessment Tools and/or Connecting Career Goals to Academic Planning. 
• Remember it is VERY important to get out and do informational interviews and/or shadow people on the job.  The academic pursuit of a career goal is only half of the picture.  You need to make sure that you experience the culture of the workplace too!
