CRLA Certified Tutor Program

The tutor program at NWACC is certified by the College Reading and Learning Association. This organization (CRLA) has established guidelines for International Tutor Certification. Tutors are qualified in the areas such as math, science, and computer information for students who are seeking extra assistance. Student's can receive tutoring during open lab hours on a drop-in basis.

These are the tutors of the Learning Lab and the Math Cafe.

Skip is a Math Instructor at NWACC and a long-tenured Tutor. He tutors most all math and geology.

Desta is a very good professional math tutor. She really cares about students and helps them in several ways.

Yan tutors math. She is originally from China but is becoming a U.S. citizen. She is very positive and has a great work ethic.

Marianne is a General Assistant and Tutor for computing applications. She has good experience in computer fields and she has a darling little daughter.

Julio tutors Spanish and Math. He is from Nicaragua and is an energetic campus leader and a very nice man.

Candice is a new General Assistant and Tutor for Computers. She plans to be a teacher and will be a good one, we are sure..

Mike is a retired electrical engineer who likes to help students with math. He is an interesting person with good ideas.

Josh is headed for a career that will combine engineering and medicine. He is very bright with a likable personality.

Vicki tutors math. She is working toward a career in speech therapy and is very patient.

Amber is the newest member of our staff. She is a General Assistant and Tutor for computers. She is full of energy.
