Grants Management Training Certification Program

The Office for Grants is pleased to present the Grants Management Training Certification Program. The training program is designed to help you remain current on award issues and new policies and procedures. All Principal Investigators (PIs) and/or professional staff members with signatory authority for externally funded grants and contracts are required to attend. For your convenience, the training has been divided into four sessions. Training will be conducted monthly and will be offered at varying times during the second and third week of each month. Topics to be included are:

Part 1 - Pre-Awards, Post-Awards, and Policies & Procedures
Part 2 - Grant and Contract Accounting
Part 3 - Post-Award Reporting, Budgets and Purchasing
Part 4 - Recurring Audit Issues and Resources

All PIs must attend the in-person training within four months of receiving written notification of an award. The training must be repeated every four years. This insures that PIs remain current on grants administration processes and changes. In addition, faculty members and staff interested in pursuing external funding are encouraged to attend the Pre-Awards, Resources, and Policies and Procedures portion of the training.
