Browser Requirements

Blackboard CE 8supports the following browsers and versions.

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or 7- Note that version 8 is not supported *
• Firefox 2 or 3
• Apple Safari 2 or 3

*Technically, Internet Explorer 8 is NOT supported for this version of Blackboard CE. However, some users have run this browser with Blackboard CE with no problems. You may wish to enable the compatibility mode in IE 8 so it will work with Blackboard CE. See HERE for more information.

Settings and Plug-Ins

Blackboard CE requires that your browser and computer be configured correctly to use all the program features.

You should check your browser by going HERE.

If there are any problems noted, you should go HERE to learn how to fix them.

Other system requirements may be added depending on items included by the instructor in the course. For example, you may need Windows Media Player, Real Player, headphones, speakers, etc.
