Who May Enroll?
All adults over the age of 18 are welcome to attend classes if they are legal residents of Arkansas and are not attending grades K-12 in a public or private school. High School Equivalency (GED) classes are open to anyone over 18 who has not completed high school or obtained a GED. In special circumstances, a 16- or 17-year-old may be allowed to enroll in the GED program.
What is the Cost?
There is NO COST for classes offered by NWACC Adult Education. For some classes, there may be a small charge for books or other materials (generally not over $20 per student), but all adult education classes are FREE OF CHARGE.
When are Classes Offered?
Adult education services are offered year-round, with both daytime and evening classes during the academic year. Students may enroll at any time, study at their own pace, and complete the course when they reach their personal goals. Instructors work with each student individually in a relaxed atmosphere. Computer-assisted instruction is also available at various times.
Adult Basic Education (ABE):
For the adult learner who wishes to brush up on reading, writing or math skills.
High School Equivalency (GED) Preparation:
Adult learners will be prepared, through class work and practice tests, to take the GED exam in order to receive their Arkansas High School Diploma.
English as a Second Language (ESL):
For adults whose native language is not English and who wish to learn the language and customs of this country.
Basic Computer Literacy:
For people who have had little or no experience with IBM-compatible personal computers. With hands-on experience and “user friendly” instructors, students learn the basics of personal computers. NWACC Adult Education also offers these classes for adult learners free of charge at the workplace in business and industry. Contact our office for details. (501-986-6911)
Where are Classes Held?
Most classes are held at the NWACC Adult Education Center, located at 2800 North Second Street,Rogers, AR. Depending on demand, classes may be offered at other sites in Benton County, including Bella Vista, Gravette and Siloam Springs, and in various businesses and industries.
How Do I Enroll?
Just call 986-6911 or come by the Adult Education Center at 2800 North Second Street,Rogers, AR. There is a general registration period before classes begin, but with a convenient “open enrollment” policy, students may register for classes at any time.
