Science
Life & Physical Sciences
offers courses that prepare students for success in NWACC health
professions programs, the ERS program and others. Most science courses
transfer to senior institutions into such programs as agriculture,
biology, chemistry, environmental management, geology, health
professions, science education and many others. The department also
offers science courses for non science majors to provide a
general understanding of the facts, processes, and relevance of science
in everyday life.

Mathematics
Everybody needs some
degree of mathematical literacy. The math department offers a
variety of courses to fit a variety of student needs. Developmental
courses help hone basic skills to ensure success in college level
math classes. The college level curriculum provides for the needs
of every major, from Accounting to Zoology and everything in
between. Small classes and dedicated faculty help both elementary
education majors and pre-engineers acquire the math skills they need
to meet their educational and career goals.

Aviation
The aviation
industry is vital to our nation’s defense, to the business community,
and to meeting the transportation needs of our people. NWACC
provides educational opportunities for a rewarding career in this
industry. For careers in piloting, maintenance, or management, the
aviation program provides the highest quality training and education
to need to meet your needs. A package of certificate and degree
programs is designed to provide for the needs of high school
students through concurrent programs as well as traditional
and non-traditional students who may be in a career change. Classes
and training are offered in Fayetteville, Springdale, and
Bentonville. Six airports, the thriving local business climate, and
a large group of aviation professionals combine to form a solid
foundation and a dynamic springboard into aviation in the 21st
century. In this program, the sky really is the limit.

Regulatory
Learn how to comply with major federal laws.
NWACC offers both certificate programs and degree programs for
students pursuing career opportunities in occupational safety,
health and environmental fields. NWACC also works to advance the
technical, scientific, managerial and ethical knowledge and skills
of occupational safety, health and environmental professionals, and
is committed to protection of people, property and the environment.

Technology
We live in a
technological society and technology permeates all aspects of the
learning process in the division. In particular, the division is
pioneering a technology infused, team driven, project focused
approach to learning. It is based on the EAST program found in a
number of high schools in Arkansas and across the nation but takes
it a new level.

Hospitality
The Introduction to Hospitality Management
Certificate of Proficiency is a 16 hour credit program designed for
students interested in the Hospitality field. The requirements
include an Introduction class, Interpersonal Communications and an
Internship. In addition, 6 credit hours should be taken from Hotel
Operations, Arkansas Tourism, Food Safety and Sanitation or Food and
Beverage Management. If the food courses are selected, there are
additional National Restaurant Association ServSafe certifications
included in these classes. This program is an exciting opportunity
for those wanting to become a dynamic part of the tourism growth in
Northwest Arkansas. |
