Physical Therapist Assistant Program
STUDENTS from the 2007 GRADUATION CLASS
“When I entered the PTA program at NWACC last year I was not sure what to expect, but I knew it was what I wanted to do. I was also unaware that I was enrolling in one of the best programs in the nation. The staff members in the NWACC PTA program are committed to making sure you become the most competent well rounded therapist you can be. Classes consist of much more than just learning from power points and books. Hands on activities and shared experiences also play an important role in the SPTA program. You are challenged to grow as a person and a professional; treating others with respect, compassion, and learning to see things from a different perspective. This program is designed to challenge you to become a better professional and I am grateful everyday for the training I have received at NWACC.”

“The instructors in the PTA program at NWACC are some of the most personable instructors that I have ever had. They really care about you as a person and as a professional. They truly want you to succeed. They have a passion for physical therapy which is conveyed through their teaching. They make sure that you are fully prepared to enter the professional world and feel competent in the treatments that you choose for your patients.”

“This is a great program! It is challenging on many levels but you will emerge knowledgeable and prepared for whatever comes at you pertaining to PT. I do feel that it not only teaches you about PT but it also teaches you a lot about who you are. I'm fairly young and I have never made a big commitment to anything, this program showed me that I can achieve anything I set my mind to. There were times when I was down or just tired and fed up, but I knew I couldn't quit. So here I am today at my first clinical internship having a great time and expanding my knowledge. It is definitely worth it in the end especially if your goal all along was to help people. Good Luck to all those who decide to make a commitment to the program, you will preserver!”

“The PTA profession is an excellent choice for you if you love working with people and care about the health and care people are provided with. I do not think that there is a better program with better instructors than the PTA program at NWACC. Everyone really cares about your success and about you. It has been a really great experience for me to use the knowledge that I have learned in school and apply it to an actual clinical setting. The instructors really prepared us for what it takes to be a PTA. It is a hard program, but well worth it in the end.”

“Hello, my name is KC; I am currently doing my Clinical Internship 1. I want to take this opportunity to share with you some of my Student Physical Therapy Assistant experiences thus far. I made it into the program, worked diligently, made some of the best friends I have ever had, made memories that will be with me forever. I have laughed, cried, stressed, felt relieved, graduated, and here I am….doing what I love. I found out through this program that I have what it takes to succeed, to do something meaningful, and to make a difference in peoples lives. The instructors are tremendous. They have an open door policy, when you need them they are there for you. They prepare you, assist you in staying positive, and help you see the light at the end of the tunnel. The PTA program is not for the faint at heart. It is not easy, but it’s worth it. If you like helping people attain their goals, live with more independence, seeing people smile at the smallest of victories, then the PTA program is the place for you. Be prepared to work hard, be diligent, have fun, make friends, and renew a sense of purpose within you. This program proved to be a life changing experience for me. I hope it will be for you too!”
