Social Work

Two Women Speaking to Each Other

Social work courses offer you the opportunity to study the importance of social justice, human rights, collective responsibility and respect for diversity. You'll learn how the practice-based profession and academic discipline promotes helping people through social change and development.

Social work courses can fulfill general education requirements for many of NWACC's degree paths and can be transferred to a four-year university.

If you decide to transfer and pursue a bachelor's, master's or a doctorate in social work, you can find employment opportunities in social work, counseling, mental health, child welfare, health care, community outreach and more.
