HIM Program Accreditation

NWACC's Health Information Management (HIM) program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).

Graduating from a CAHIIM accredited program offers employers assurance that you have the expected professional knowledge and skills, and have experienced a curriculum that is relevant to today's electronic health record (EHR) environment.

A graduate is required to have completed an accredited CAHIIM program in order to be eligible to take the AHIMA professional HIM Certification Exam and become certified.

About CAHIIM:

The Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) recognizes degree-granting programs in Health Informatics and Information Management that have undergone a rigorous process of voluntary peer review and have met or exceeded the minimum Accreditation Standards as set by the CAHIIM. These programs are awarded accreditation status by the CAHIIM, which provides public recognition of such achievement.
