Master the Art of Communication with English

English is much more than just dangling participles, adverbs, and semicolons. It’s a broad area of study that includes many disciplines - composition, humanities, literature, creative writing, and so on. English embodies all the ways humans use language and art to communicate with each other.

In addition to the first-year composition course, the college offers classroom and online courses in literatures, the humanities, creative writing, academic writing, personal writing, film studies, women's studies, journalism, and more.

The English program includes five concentrations:

  • Composition
  • Creative Writing
  • English Humanities
  • Journalism
  • Literature
