Financial Aid Office

Federal Work-Study Program (FWS)

The Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program encourages the part-time employment of undergraduate students who need the income to help pay for their cost of education, and encourages FWS recipients to participate in community service activities.

To be considered for the work-study program, the student must:

  • submit the Free Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA) to the Department of Education. This application is available at the NWACC Financial Aid Office or at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

  • submit all required verification documents to the NWACC Financial Aid Office (see Forms section of this web site)

  • be making Satisfactory Academic Progress as defined by the SAP Policy available at the Financial Aid Office, on this web site and in the college catalog

  • have unmet financial need as determined by review of his or her completed financial aid file (Cost of Attendance - EFC - other aid and scholarships)

A limited number of Work-Study positions are available for up to twenty hours per week. Students are paid $7.25 or $7.75 per hour depending on job duties.
