High School Student Information
Whether you are
~taking classes on your high school campus (our Step Ahead Program),
~taking classes on our campus (our Concurrent Program) or
~receiving college credit for some of your high school courses
(College and Career Connections Program),
we are pleased that you are getting a jump start on your college career. This page contains some of the things you need to know, services you may want to take advantage of, and some of the benefits of being a student at NWACC.

and much more to help make your experience at NWACC positive and productive. If you do not have a copy of our current catalog, please stop by the Student Information Center in Burn's Hall and they will be happy to give you one.
Transcript Information 479-619-4398
•A Transcript Release Form must be completed if you plan to attend another college and want college credit for classes taken at the high school (Step Ahead Program) or classes taken on the NWACC campus. Your high school counselor may have this form, you may request one at NWACC at the Student Information Center or the Cashiers Window, or you can print and mail the form found here. The form should be completed after you have completed your course. You may mail the form, along with the processing fee, to the NWACC address shown on the form or bring the form to the NWACC Cashier’s Window. Please see your high school counselor or call NWACC if you have any questions.
•All grades received for college courses will be posted on your NorthWest Arkansas Community College transcript.
Advanced Placement Credits
NWACC encourages students to take AP courses and the related AP examinations while in high school. NWACC will award college credit based on the national AP examination score.
Grade Requirements
High School students must maintain a grade of ‘C’ in all prerequisite college coursework to be eligible to re-enroll the following semester.
Bookstore & Book Buyback Information 619-2222
The NWACC Bookstore is located at the Woods Lane Facility off Highway 102. Unless otherwise noted, all high school students participating in the Step Ahead or Concurrent Programs must purchase their books at the bookstore. There are specific dates that you may sell your books back to the bookstore. Bookstore hours and buyback dates are available on the NWACC campus or at the Bookstore.
Services You May Need
We invite you to take a tour of our campus, meet our faculty and staff, and get a firsthand look at the programs offered at NorthWest Arkansas Community College. The Division of Student Services will arrange a tour with an NWACC student representative and a brief introduction by an academic advisor/counselor. Call the Learner Development Center if you would like to schedule a tour.
The Learning Lab provides Academic Support for all NWACC Students such as:
•Free, drop-in Faculty/Peer Tutoring
•Word processing
•Internet Access/support
•Computer Tutorials
The Learning Lab is located in NWACC’s Burn's Hall , Room 1109. Please visit the Learning Lab or phone for hours of operation.
As an NWACC student, you qualify for library privileges. The library is located on the first floor of NWACC’s Burns Hall.

Limits: Books - 3 per subject
Videos & CDs - 2 each
Overall Total: 9 Items

Financial Aid information and guidance is available at NWACC’s Burns Hall, 2nd Floor. High school students are not eligible for financial aid until after high school graduation; however, completing the required documents should be started in January prior to your high school graduation. Please visit or call the Financial Aid Office for further assistance.

Things to do at NWACC
As an NWACC student you may want to participate in our Intramural Recreational Sports Program. A variety of team and individual activities are offered throughout the semester and we encourage students to join the fun.
The Office of Campus Activities is responsible for coordinating, supporting, and implementing extra curricular programs and activities throughout the academic year. Activities are planned and implemented by students through the leadership of the Student Advisory and Activity Council (SAAC), the Student Ambassadors, and registered student organizations.
