Leadership Team Role and Function

The AQIP Leadership Team will direct (steer) the college’s AQIP work.  It will emphasize the development of strategies and internal processes necessary for doing the AQIP work.  The focus will not be on “tasks” but on generating broad strategies and processes for achieving AQIP goals.  Dr. Gene Schneider will lead the AQIP Leadership Team.  The Team's specific responsibilities include the following:Establish the broad agenda for the college’s AQIP efforts.

  1. Develop strategies for improving college employees’ understanding and support of AQIP and participation in continuous quality improvement initiatives.  Such strategies may include but are not limited to (a) developing a handbook of terminology, (b) identifying and recommending activities for staff development, (c) creating a calendar of AQIP events in collaboration with staff development leaders, (d) generating and disseminating annual progress reports, (e) celebrating success by recognizing the quality improvement successes of individuals and departments. 
  2. Supervise, support, and monitor the work of the Action Project teams. 
  3. Direct efforts to complete the college’s Systems Portfolio. 
  4. Plan strategies, timelines, and processes for complying with all provisions for accreditation through AQIP, as defined by the Higher Learning Commission.
  5. Build a cohesive AQIP Leadership Team by broadening the collective wisdom of the group and engaging in team-building activities. 
  6. Coordinate the research needs of the Action Plan teams and the AQIP Leadership  Team and communicate needs to the Institutional Research office. 

Regularly report progress of the respective Action Project teams to the entire college

Timeline

Scheduled meetings of AQIP Leadership Team for fall 2007 in Burns Hall 3000  (meetings will begin at 9 a.m. and typically last for 60 to 75 minutes).  Agendas will be distributed in advance, and minutes will be taken and posted on NWACC's AQIP website

  Second and fourth Friday of each month;September 14
